2010 NFL Sunday Football Week 3 Scores

March 31, 2011 by · 4 Comments

www.mahalo.com An overtime upset and much-needed wins filled the third week of Sunday games in the 2010 National Football League season on September 26, 2010. After all was said and done, just two unexpected teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs, reached the 3-0 mark to open their seasons. A missed field goal in overtime by New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley led to the first loss of the year for the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Atlanta Falcons won big in the Big Easy with a final score of 27 to 24. Embattled quarterback Michael Vick threw for nearly 300 yards and added four touchdowns in a 28-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams were breathing a sigh of relief Sunday as each notched their first win of the season. Minnesota topped the Detroit Lions 24-10, Dallas held off the Houston Texans 27-13 and the rookie quarterback Sam Bradford and the Rams tallied a 30-16 win over the Washington Redskins. On the other end of the spectrum, the San Francisco 49ers remained winless in week three as did the Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions. San Francisco took immediate action to fix the situation, firing offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye. In the Sunday night game, a DUI arrest during the week didn’t stop Braylon Edwards from scoring a touchdown for the New York Jets as they rallied to defeat the Miami Dolphins 31-23 and take over first place in the AFC East.
