Andy Griffith’s famous 1953 stand-up monologue about college football. It has become one of the most beloved comedy recordings of all time. The illustrations used in this video were drawn by George Woodbridge, a Mad Magazine artist. The comic illustration appear in Mad Magazine in 1958. You can view the illustration at www.collectmad.com We edited the illustrations to match the story line. We then used this clip for illustrative purposes during one of our church services here at Cornerstone City Church. www.cornerstoneindy.com

That is a great bit. Andy Griffith is an excellent storyteller.
kinda sounds like jerry clower
more talented than most people think. and aint ashamed of his “hickness”. (which is a good thang). Thanks for the drawing info. Wouldn’t mind hanging some of those up on my wall.
I laughed til I cried, and then segued nicely into a bad coughing fit. The visuals are also hilarious, esp the one of them bunchful of men “fighting.”
Excellent, thanks for posting.

I still have the album my dad brought home for us to hear back in the fifties. I’m still laughing every time.

Andy Griffith is a lot funnier than Jay Leno!

After 56 years it still sounds fresh … and Mr. Griffith is still one of the funniest men in show business.
