Brazil shuts down for football

With five World Cup victories under its belt, football is a Brazilian national obsession. As the Brazilian team prepares to face the Netherlands in the quarter final showdown on Friday, back at home many Brazilian businesses are resigned to the fact they will have to shut down during the match. As Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo reports from Sao Paulo, when the national team hits the pitch, it’s time for factories to hit the off switch all around the country. (July 02, 2010)
