Carrie Underwood’s National Anthem

March 12, 2010 by

January 22, 2006 – in front of the appreciative Seattle Seahawks fans at Qwest Field, Carrie Underwood sang one of the most beautiful renditions of the National Anthem ever performed on broadcast television. This clip is intended to honor that version, the song itself, and what it represents.

OK I know this is not going to be popular with you underwood lovers..but this was not her best. I know Carrie can sing..but she was off here. This would have been better with music. She was all over the place with it. sharp a lot, over shot where she didn’t need to..a bit of a mess if I am being honest.

Absolutely beautiful and flawless! This performance is way better than her Superbowl one!! I don’t understand why she went downhill, but she did.

I think that she did the “land of the free” part very very beautiful! Well, I thought all of it was very very beautiful, but that was my favorite part!

She’s FINALLY getting to sing it at the SUPER BOWL! She truly does have the greatest singing voice of all time– beautiful inside and out…I love her!

Now THIS is how you sing the National Anthem!!! No runs, no trills, no frills … just sing the song. Amazing!!!

I have to say that she did a fantastic job on the song but when she got the the high part she went kinda sharp “land of the free”

That’s too bad you think that.

Your probably the only one who thinks
    negatively about this.

I haven’t seen this since that game was played. She did a phenomenal job.

It’s beautiful because she has a beautiful voice. But more than that, she sings it with the pure hearted patriotism of a girl raised on a farm in Oklahoma. It’s anointed. God Bless America!!!

simply perfect and i’m glad that carrie didnt add other things to the anthem like others do, it’s like they’re having a concert or something, they just make it longer and wayy more complicated than it should be and carrie just sang it perfectly!!!!

    hahaha…
Sounds to me like you’re a little tonally challenged yourself. The professionals who work with her, the record labels, and the millions of fans must all be wrong.

Training should help you overcome your disablity.

    Good luck.

Her voice is just… flat! I can’t believe she even won a competition, let alone they let her sing the national anthem live…

I think they get so into the song they just can’t help it…it is a very touching song after all.

absolutely THE BEST rendition of the anthem. Why all the other singers add those retarded notes to butcher the song is beyond me.

I so agree with you about all the runs and oohhs and things other artist’s put in the song. It is our National Anthem, sing it with respect, no butchering should be allowed

I’m not an American but Dutch, I’m proud that our greatgreatgreatfathers founded the Dutch colony Nieuw Amsterdam => New Amsterdam => New York. Too bad we switched it for Suriname. But still a lot of Dutch influences in New York!!! I love the USA!
