no one seems to understand that, had the banks not been bailed out, the whole system would have collapsed due to systemic risk. Instead of complaining about the bailout, why don’t you criticize the crappy regulation during the years prior to the crisis? Investment banks would not have been doing their job had they not taken advantage of what the regulatory framework allowed them to do. It’s the government and banks’ fault, but the US would be screwed without the bailout.
Ralph is right, The twin party system is being replaced by the one party with two faces.

2. Violating the constitution is not a “criminal offense.” You can’t put someone in prison for suspending writs of habeus corpus. You can declare a president’s acts unconstitutional and get an injunction to prevent him from acting in that manner. You CANNOT put him in jail for it.
