I’m no expert, but wasn’t Professor Dahlberg measuring the acceleration of decker for too long a period – not just the instantaneous acceleration from the moment he took the hit meaning that the calculated figure of 10.78g is a bit too low.

Actually it should be a lot lower since he has pads on. Which work like shock absorbers.

I think if anything the 10.78 figure is too low — that was quite a hit though! I was at that game, I still can’t believe he held on.

Isn’t the force he’s feeling just the transfer of momentum of 1/2(mass of cattouse)(velocity of cattouse)squared?
BTW, decker did hold on the ball, but Cal still won.
