Wow retard, saying that you tackle, not hit…that’s like saying you don’t eat, you consume food. Unless those tackles come at walking speed, YOU HIT, moron!
Seriously, any neutral observer would know that was a cheap shot. I love the commentator who supports the eye for eye idea, and the Eagles player who retaliates.
if im right or wrong it doesnt really matter to me. atleast ive played the game and know what it takes. i know about the game. i really could give a shit about what kink of money they make, it really has nothing to do with the game
@cards7509 Yeah, and the cap is over 100 million dollars. The top players get paid huge contracts. None of this is news buddy, you just don’t know much about how much NFL players get paid.
@cards7509 Julius Peppers will make $16.683 million this year from his contract. Dude, you just don’t know what you’re talking about. Roethlisberger had a contract set up that earned him over $27 million in 2008.
Eli manning has a contract for $97.5 million over 6 years. That’s an average of $16.25 million per year.
Look it up.
@cards7509 Carson Palmer has a contract for about $16,500,000 a season, Eli Manning makes about $15,500,000 per season. The other Manning, Roethlisberger, Asomugha, all these guys make similar amounts.
That’s without sponsorships, bonuses or endorsements. When you take those things into account these guys would easily be making $20,000,000 a year.
@MCHamer11 Yeah, well, relative to an AFL player they get paid a shitload, or relative to you and I, sure.
But for an NFL player, most punters are on peanuts. The NFL’s minimum wage is $350,000 US last time I checked. Most punters aren’t on much more than that. Maybe $500,000 or $1,000,000 for the best punters. But that’s nothing for the NFL, there are guys on more than $20,000,000 a year.
im australian and im sorry but thats bullshit. aussie rules has been around for 150 years and it still isnt the main code in all of australia. somehow i dont think its going to be that popular in america at any time, seeing as they already have a national sport. and if you look at some of these comments, they obviously think we australians are complete and utter pussies because we dont celebrate when someone gets their head smashed in
you have completely missed the point dickhead. it wasnt supposed to impress you. it was Sav Rocca’s first NFL game and as a ‘welcoming present’ he got hammered. and we dont ‘hit’, dipshit, we tackle. thats why we dont have deaths in AFL
you have no idea what the fuck you are saying do you?
half of them are going bald? that is the biggest piece of bullshit i have ever heard.
clearly you havent been watching AFL. do you really think someone like Gary Ablett Jnr really weighs the same as someone like Jonathan Brown or Brenden Fevola? next time you watch AFL take a good hard look before you post a comment like that
NFL and AFL are 2 completely different sports requiring different things from its players. in NFL the job of half the guys on the field is to smash the opposition. there are very few rules concerning illegal tackles. in AFL almost every player on the field has to run a long way over the course of the match. NFL is more about strength and agility, whereas AFL is more about speed, coordination and endurance. stop trying to compare the two.
yes NFL players are stronger and for the most part bigger but they are in no way tougher then Aussie rules or rugby players, standing still an NFL player would punch fuck out of an AFL player but try doing it after running 10 k’s and see if the NFL still has the strength!!! and a rugby man would play NFL with NO PADS or HELMET and you have the cheek to call them a pussy. play one game of rugby, union or leauge and then youcan talk shit!!!!

the internet is full of false stuff. nothing on the internet is ever 100%. the NFL has salary cap rules.

know there contracts are spread over like 5 seasons. the first couple of years are not as much as the final years of the contract.
eli makes like 50million over 5 years.

when u say $20,000,000 a year u are wrong.
but over 5 years a contract could allow an NFL player to make that. no one in the NFL makes anywhere near that a year.
maybe the highest is like 4 or 5mil but not more. the NFL has a limit to what a player can be paid a year. ur statement is wrong.

@Raawr77
u mean apologize?
what i mean is, is that chris long and others are BIGGER, STRONGER than sav rocca.
i dont care what the scale says.
basketball players weigh that much. there just tall lanky toothpicks.
not saying rocca is a pussy, i just said that cause u pissed me off.
but to say the guy could go one on one against guys like jared allen or chris long is just stupid.
this aint the afl. its the NFL
March 10th, 2010 at 12:00 am

@cards7509 Who was talking about stats you dumb fuck?
You said he DIDNT LOOK BIG, you fuckwitt. Your own words. Then I provided concrete evidence showing he was pretty damn big.
Admit you were wrong, then apologise.
And whats not to get? 14 year veteran retires and walks into the NFL. something you couldnt do.
