@northed DJAM was a DJ who recently passed away, he was the DJ that can be seen in the video.

I was expecting a little more to be honest….but this was still sweet.

Am I a dick if I say the graphics were more impressive than the actual drumming? Man everyone involved in that 1 minute of video would have been paid such an absurd amount.

Greatness. I don’t like Travis Barker at all, but this little piece of perfection is mindblowing.

@buryfall2010 i wouldn’t say talentless but hes by no means as good as any of the people that you listed.

  13. spenceryork on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

no it doesn’t work that way. its just more weight and actually can slow u down. but its not about speed. a cymbal can only open up so much until its at its full sound potential, which only takes one hand to easily do with a medium swing. so speed has nothing to do with it

  14. hartigan69 on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

@spenceryork what i mean, I see more then one drummer in the eintire world who hits the symbol exactly like that, and its only to go faster. its their style,

  15. spenceryork on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

what do you mean by that?

  16. hartigan69 on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

@spenceryork lol can you hit it faster using one hand ? :P didnt think so.

  17. OsorioTheGreen on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

    rip am.

  18. spenceryork on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

true. he can afford a new cymbal for every time he plays one

  19. prayforaslowdance on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

    @buryfall2010
you missed out tanner wayne and thomas lang in your little list
not trying to piss you off
but they are seriously just as good as those guys you just listed

The reality of it is, if Dave Weckl, Mike Portnoy, Danny Carrey, Kenny Aranoff, and Dennis Chambers were having a round table discussion, and Travis walked in, they would probably be compelled to ask him if he was lost, while holding back the almost uncontrollable urge to laugh.

He’s all show and the little kiddies worship him.

    Sad.

Well, I guess I’ll get flamed by tons of little boys who need to defend their talentless little tattooed hero.

While we’re at it, let’s just say that Milli Vanilli is awesome because they sold 7 million albums.

Money and fame doesn’t equal talent. The Cars drummer John Robinson has millions and he wouldn’t know a 5-stroke roll if he tripped over one.

Travis does what he does because that’s where the money is. The little kiddies eat it up and he knows it. He’ll never progress. He’ll never truly be respected in the world of real drumming the way guys like Weckl, Thomas Lang, and Danny Carrey are.

  22. azimuth361 on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

@TJDFlinn Yeah, well, I’d put him on about the same plane as Tommy Lee. He puts on a pretty good show, but technically, not very impressive. It’s a rare drummer who can play well AND put on a good show.

  23. azimuth361 on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

@spenceryork I would suggest that he can afford to break the occasional cymbal. In fact, I once saw the late, great Randy Castillo take all the cymbals off his kit, autograph them and give them away to fans backstage after an Ozzy show. It’s just for show, theatrics. That’s why he’s featured on ESPN commercials and we’re stuck here in the workaday world commenting about it.

someone needs to make this a ringtone

  25. spenceryork on March 9th, 2010 3:33 pm

im not complaining, idiots are giving me shit so im only backing up what i said before. it was just a simple comment i added to the video. im guessing the ppl arguing with me arent actual drummers or percussionists and don’t understand proper care for a cast cymbal . everyones entitled to their opinion don’t call me a lose just because i voiced my little opinion. im simply explaining myself to you ppl who see it as a complaint
