A select group of Chelsea fans on Twitter praised Mason Mount after his impressive show against Porto in the UEFA Champions League last night.
The Blues made a trip to Seville for the first leg of the quarter-final, winning 2–0 thanks to goals from Mason and Ben Chilwell.
The match was not straightforward despite the results, and the West London giants had to work hard to achieve victory with just three shots on target in 90 minutes.
Mount opened the scoring for the Blues in the 32nd minute of the competition. Dominate Jorginho’s pass with a cool turn to outwit Chancel Mbemba.
Subsequently, the English international fired a shot for the first time in the lower left corner which beat the diving goalkeeper.
The Blues doubled their lead five minutes into the end of time when Chilwell made a defensive foul from Jesus Corona.
The left-back showed good calm as he rotated the shot stopper before tapping the empty net with his weaker right foot.
The victory gave the Blues a major advantage before the first leg, and some fans were happy with Mount’s offer.

I must say Mount has proven me wrong recently and I absolutely love him. He did great under Tochel and I can definitely see him leveling up with Tuchel as his manager. I am happy for him

The 22-year-old was criticized by some fans for not being able to divert his chances on goal.
However, he has made a huge improvement since coach Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard as head coach in January.
He scored five goals under the German lead, and four of them in the league, helping the club earn five points.
Mount has quickly become an undisputed main player for club and country, and the future looks bright for the midfielder, who came from the ranks of the Blues youth.
Mount and Chilwell both scored their first goals in the UEFA Champions League last night.
