Barcelona is looking to secure new signings for next season, and somewhere near the top of its list is Eric Garcia of Manchester City.
The young center-back made an agreement in principle to return to Catalonia last year, but although Barcelona are still very attached to him, they have offered him a smaller salary than was agreed 12 months ago.
Mateu Alemany just took over as sports director and started making decisions.
One of them was to give the green light to the signing of Garcia, a player who was about to sign for Barcelona in the last two windows.
Now, however, Barcelona are looking to reduce this initial proposal, due to the club’s financial situation which has deteriorated due to COVID-19 and subsequent measures imposed.
It now remains to be seen whether the player, who has always been eager to return to Barcelona, will accept the proposal.
