In an exclusive interview with Football FanCastSteve Bull, who has made 561 appearances for Wolves, believes they should look to the domestic market for their summer signings this year.
Wolves have become known for their Protugsues influence on the Premier League which starts with Nuno Espirito Santo and Jorge Mendes and they now have eight Portuguese players in their first team.
Do Wolves need more English players?
These Portuguese players have all been regulars for Wolves this season, with Vitinha having the smallest impact with just 13 appearances, but players like Rui Patricio and Pedro Neto have started all 30 Premier League games this season.
Speaking about the type of player Wolves should target this summer and how he doesn’t know where they’re going to target, Bull said. FFC:
“ANDor could to do all that week talk about potential actors boutside unless we had Jorge Mendes in front of us, I don’t know if he will speak Portuguese, English or even if Nuno has a say or not.
“We need somebody of the Premier League, a English player who is To do this or has completed before.
Wolves have been operating with a double pivot from Joao Moutinho and Ruben neves since their promotion to the Premier League, but with the former 35-year-old this year it might be time for a replacement.
They have the option to make Vitinha’s loan transfer from Porto permanent at the end of the season, but they have also been linked with Burnley’s Josh Brownhill.
