Danilo hailed his side’s unmissable victory over Napoli last night but called on experienced Juventus players to lead the team to focus.
The Old Lady has been frustratingly inconsistent this season, drawing with many below-par teams and giving too many points throughout the campaign.
We’ve had to juggle plenty of coronavirus injuries and absences, as well as taking part in Champions League and Cup competitions that certainly didn’t help, but we’ll be looking to find that consistency with just the Coppa Italia final in the end of the campaign. with the exception of Serie A.
Danilo called on team leaders to focus on the less experienced, using yesterday’s performances as the basis for what can be achieved.
“We knew how important this game was,” Danilo said after the final whistle (via Juventus.com). “When we all stand together and dig together like we did today, this is what happens: We play well and win games.
“We have to continue now. The big teams are consistent and we have struggled to organize long races this season. The more experienced players among us need to lead the team and make sure that we play with the focus and attitude that we have shown today.
Has the lack of leadership been the problem this season? Who should we turn to to be leaders on the side?
