Liverpool are believed to be keen on signing Ajax defensive midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
The 18-year-old is highly rated across Europe and Premier League rivals Chelsea are believed to be watching him as well.
According to the Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport (via Express), the player is valued at around £ 30million and it will be interesting to see if the Reds manage to sign the young Dutchman this summer.
Liverpool will likely lose Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer at the end of this season and compatriot Gravenberch will likely be the replacement.
The Dutchman is a great passer of the depths and he could also be lethal with his efforts at long range. Additionally, the 18-year-old midfielder is a superb running back and has impressive dribbling ability.
The Ajax youngster is a prodigious young talent and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could help him develop and realize his potential at Anfield.
The German has done well to develop young players like Curtis Jones, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez during his time at the Premier League club and he could have a similar impact on Gravenberch’s game as well.
The reported £ 30million could prove to be a steal if the youngster manages to realize his potential with Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether the Reds can fend off competition from Chelsea and sign the player this summer.
Here’s how Reds fans reacted to the news.
