Manchester United do not want Jesse Lingard to return and sell him in the summer transfer window, it has been claimed.
The England international has flourished on loan at West Ham this season, scoring six goals and recording two assists in eight games so far.
But, despite this, her time at the Theater of Dreams seems to be over.
Ian McGarry, speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, claimed United will sell whatever the 28-year-old does in the weeks and months to come.
He said: “Jesse Lingard is a player who was rejected by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, sent on loan to West Ham United, turned out to be something sensational, not more so than last weekend.
“And it looks like although the player is under contract, United are ready to play a waiting game, as we know they will be waiting until Lingard is named – or not – to England’s Euro 2020 squad this summer.
“And if he is, then they will wait again for the possibility of his rise in value to give them an advantage in terms of income, and therefore he will be allowed to leave the club despite his very impressive form at the Olympic stadium,” and that would be the case regardless of who United would try to buy. ”
