Former Premier League star Keith Gillespie praised Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds United, telling Football FanCast that they are sometimes a “joy to watch”.
The Whites have had a superb top-flight season following their promotion to the Premier League last season.
They are currently safely seated in 11th place in the table, having beaten Sheffield United 2-1 this weekend.
Will Leeds finish in the top six next season?
Bielsa’s men are 16 points ahead of the relegation zone with just eight games to go, and are closer to European qualifying places than falling.
Leeds also had notable performances against top teams, drawing Chelsea and Manchester City and beating Leicester City.
And Gillespie believes Bielsa’s high-intensity attacking style of football has captured the imaginations of fans across the country.
Indeed, he claims that while Leeds have their moments of giving up chances – they lost 6-2 to Manchester United and 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season – they are certainly not alone.
He said FFC: “He was fantastic. He’s been a breath of fresh air again in the Premier League, I think a lot of people took him because of the style of football he plays.
“Leeds are a joy to watch sometimes, exciting players. They do give you a chance sometimes, as far as the way they play from the back is concerned, but I guess a lot of clubs are doing that with this new rule that you can pass the ball from a kick. goal and it is not. out of the box.
“Lots of clubs give you heart attack moments, I guess.”
