Manchester United claimed a memorable European victory over AC Milan in the Europa League round of 16 second leg at Old Trafford tonight. Here are our player ratings for the game:
(A score of 6 is the average.)
Dean henderson 8 – Made two great saves in the second half, performed excellent sweeper-keeper duties and shouted instructions to his defense all night. David of whom?
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 7 – I looked very tired and leggy from the start, but found a few extra kilometers in the tank in the second half. Good job, he was not called up to the England squad because he needs the rest.
Victor Lindelof 8 – Big interception towards the end of the first half and held Zlatan at bay in the second. One of his best performances for United.
Harry maguire 8 – Very good performance from Maguire.
Luke shaw 8 – Just brimming with confidence and making the game easy for now. Another impressive performance.
Scott McTominay 8 – Was a bit anonymous in the first half but dug and protected the defense brilliantly in the second.
Fred 8 – Unhappy in the first half but brilliant in the second. The secret seemed to be for him to take it a step further and trust McSauce to do the maintenance duties.
Dan James | 6 – Worked on his socks and his pace was helpful but didn’t really accomplish much.
Bruno Fernandes 5 – I hate to criticize our best player but nothing he did really worked tonight.
Marcus Rashford 6 – Clearly out of rhythm – was pushed back from injury too early it seems.
Mason greenwood 7 – Quiet play but led the line well and worked hard. I did pretty well in a very adult game.
Paul pogba 9 – Instant impact. Transformed the side. Great goal, brilliant strength and presence, well defended… pretty much the ultimate performance of the substitute.
