Gareth Southgate named England’s 26-man squad for the upcoming international break, and Aston Villa striker Ole Watkins was called up after an impressive season with West Midlands.
Watkins signed with Aston Villa early this season and the 25-year-old proved to be a great addition to Dean Smith’s attack.
The former Brentford striker has 12 goals to his name in all competitions and has proven himself as a key player at Villa this season.
Not surprisingly, Southgate has decided to call the 25-year-old forward and it will be interesting to see if he gets a chance to impress England now.
However, the England coach’s decision to disqualify Isri Kunsa is very baffling.
The 23-year-old is arguably the best English defender in the Premier League currently alongside John Stones and deserves to be called up for the national team.
Aston Villa’s defensive partner, Tyrone Mings, has been called up for the national team and it appears that some Aston Villa fans were surprised by the decision to disqualify the 23-year-old.
Meanwhile, here’s the Aston Villa fans ‘reaction to Ole Watkins’ recall to the England national team yesterday.

Great news, congratulations.
I believe in the talks before signing my preliminary asking Smith what he wants from his career, Ole replied that I wanted to play for England and Smith said come to Villa and it will happen.
Should we say that the first step has been achieved
