Super Eagles striker Simy Nwankwo’s Italian club Crotone have been relegated from Serie A.
Crotone’s faint hope of beating the crash died down on Saturday when he lost 0-2 at home to title-seeking Inter Milan.
The defeat at Stadio Ezio Scida was Crotone’s 26th loss this season in Serie A as they were only able to collect paltry 18 points after 34 matches.
With four games remaining in the Italian top flight, Crotone is 13 points from safety; which means they can’t hit the grade needed to stay upright.
While the Pythagoreans became the first team to undergo relegation in the 2019-20 Serie A season, 19th-placed Parma could also join them depending on their result in their away game against Turin on Monday.
With his side’s relegation now confirmed, Simy will focus on helping Crotone end the 2020-21 season on a high with games against Roma, Hellas Verona, Benevento and Fiorentina yet to come.
