Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, famous for his relentless pursuit of transfer news, has doubled allegations that Liverpool will sign RB Leipzig star Ibrahima Konate.
The Reds have a long-standing interest in the Frenchman and will ‘soon’ implement the agreement – a demand that the Sky Sports reporter repeated over the weekend …
Ibrahima Konaté to Liverpool, here we go soon! The deal is set to be completed, personal terms agreed on a five-year contract.
Liverpool will pay the release clause to RB Leipzig in the next few days [around €35m] to complete the signing of Konaté. 🔴 #LFC https://t.co/N4OWqqXiGu

The young Frenchman has already commented on the rumors and joked that he just wanted to be alone when his phone “buzzed everywhere” the morning after the news in The Athletic.
Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, Konate was asked about the rumors and got giggled in her answer. “No no no no. I think I can not answer this question,He laughed – as reported by Echo.
“I do not know, I do not know, I do not know, ”He continued with a wide smile on his face.

Liverpool, in a desperate situation with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all injured, signed Ben Davies and Ozan Kabak in the January transfer window.
But Davies is yet to make his debut for the Reds, while Kabak was signed on a six-month loan deal with a possibility to buy – not obligation so their future at Anfield remains to be seen.
The news about Konate, who is potentially arriving this summer, may have an impact – but for Liverpool it is good news that Jurgen Klopp and co. has been calling for a new top-class defender since Dejan Lovren’s departure.
