Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has hailed Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard as ‘one of the best’ players in the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers, who have already won the SPL, have won 4-1 against rivals Old Firm to maintain their unbeaten league title this season.
It has been a great season for the Ibrox club, who have also done well in the Europa League. However, the Rangers needed a solid performance after their disappointment in domestic cup competitions.
The boss of the Gers analyzed the performance of Jack Simpson for the Rangers.
The 24-year-old defender started the game with Gers missing Filip Helander and Leon Balogun due to injury.
Gerrard hinted that Simpson had done a brilliant job and that he would get better. It was a difficult challenge for him to compete with Edouard.
Gerrard said Herald Scotland:
“He had a few moments in the game. We will analyze his performance and him too, because he is a kid who wants to get better.
“I thought he did a lot of things well. He faced one of the best players in the league at Edouard, well helped by Elyounoussi and Turnbull. It was a difficult challenge for him.
This campaign has been disappointing for Celtic, but Edouard has done well for them.
The French striker has scored 16 goals and provided five assists in the Scottish Premiership this season.
He has a contract at the club until 2022, and there is a good chance that he will be unloaded in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Newcastle want to sign Celtic defender Kristoff Ajer.
