In an exclusive interview with Football FanCastSteve Howey, who has made 278 appearances in his career, has said he would not be surprised to see Marcelo Bielsa leave Leeds United to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Spurs and Daniel Levy are currently on the hunt for their next manager after parting ways with Jose Mourinho days before their possible Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City.
Should Bielsa join Spurs?
Ryan Mason, who went through Tottenham academy, was placed in temporary charge until the end of the season, with the 29-year-old winning his first and only Premier League game thanks to a 90th-minute penalty of Son Heung-min.
Explaining why he wouldn’t be surprised to see Bielsa at Spurs next season and how he presents himself as a manager, Howey exclusively said FFC:
“Bielsa seems like a strange man to be honest and very intense. He wouldn’t surprise me to see him there next season because nothing does surprise me in Soccer.
“NOTnothing surprises me in Soccer when you talk about players being sold and bought and also with managers to come up and To go. Therefore he would not surprise me.”
Bielsa still hasn’t signed a contract extension this summer and the Leeds hierarchy have started planning a potential life without the Argentine.
Leeds sit comfortably in the middle of the table with just four Premier League games left this season.
