Sanchez tells Spurs to name Pochettino

Addressed exclusively to Football FanCastFormer Premier League manager Lawrie Sanchez has urged Tottenham Hotspur to bring Mauricio Pochettino back this summer.

The Argentine was sacked and then replaced by Jose Mourinho 18 months ago, but the latter having also recently been dismissed from his role in north London, Spurs are again on the hunt for a new manager.

Will Mauricio Pochettino ever return to Tottenham?

No

Pochettino himself is currently in charge of PSG following his appointment in January, although his first campaign in the French capital is on the line.

PSG face an uphill battle to come out of their Champions League semi-final fixture with Manchester City following their first leg loss, while their hopes of securing a fourth straight Ligue 1 title hinge on the leaders Lille slipped in their three remaining matches.

And Sanchez, who led Fulham for an eight-month period in 2007, believes Daniel Levy should make a sensational move to rename Pochettino.

He said Football FanCast:

“If I was at Tottenham I would go back and get Pochettino. I would say “look we made a major mistake, we love what you did here, come back”

“Let him win his trophy with PSG. Having left, he realized that he was not as sexy as he thought he was. He didn’t get the job at Manchester United or one of the best jobs. He ended up at PSG – a one-club country.
