Former Tottenham Hotspur striker has become a popular football expert Peter Crouch says it is difficult to back Arsenal to win the Europa League semi-final against Villarreal.
Arsenal lost 2-1 to Villarreal in the first leg of the draw, but they were outscored for much of the game in Spain.
In a question and answer session with the Daily Mail, Crouch stressed that the Gunners have a lot of problems but believes their Premier League win this weekend could give them a boost.
Crouch wrote for the Daily mail: “On the one hand, I look and see a club where there are a lot of things that are wrong. On the other hand, I see a team that has the capacity to win when it really needs to.
“Villarreal had enough chances to kill the first leg but Arsenal being Arsenal they could end up getting away with it.
“Yesterday’s win at Newcastle will have given them some confidence, and they have forwards who can score at any time. But would I put any money on them? No chance.”
Arsenal need to make sure they stay resolute at the back and don’t concede early.
They have players who can create chances and score goals. However, it is their leaky defense that remains a major concern.
After a disappointing Premier League campaign, Arsenal’s season hinges on this particular game, and they can’t make too many mistakes.
