In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, David Norris, who spent two and a half years at Leeds United, revealed that he expects Barry Douglas to leave Åland Road when his contract expires in the summer because Marcelo Bielsa does not trust him.
Douglas never got a chance to prove himself in the Premier League with Leeds, as he was sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers in October, where he has 31 appearances.
Should Leeds keep Douglas at the club?
The full-back made 15 appearances under the leadership of Biels last season, as Leeds won the championship and eventually won promotion to the Premier League after a 16-year absence from the top flight.
Talking about why he expects Douglas to leave Leeds this summer and why he never had a chance this season, Norris said. FFC:
“Bielsa never trusted him in on back four sOh I do not look how he goes out for rent there will be change something. If I am honest, I I expect him to keep going.
“He he looked beautiful acute when returned from injury and he looked such as he could, maybe start plays regularly, boutside I I think after being outside On loan this season I look forward to seeing Douglas moved On.”
Alioski reportedly agreed to a pre-contract with Galatasaray and Douglas in disfavor under Bielsa, and Lilliwaits is linked to a move for Ajax left-back Nicolas Taliafico
Douglas was happy with the Leeds fans after he managed to finish the match against Millwall, which he won 3: 2, but he had no reserves left and later it turned out that the defender was playing with a hamstring injury.
