Marcelo leaves the polling station in Madrid, will play against Chelsea

Marcelo left the polling station in Madrid in time to play for Real against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.

As the Guardian reported earlier this week, the Brazilian left-back has been selected to oversee the polling station for local elections, threatening his participation in Real Madrid’s second match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Marcelo would not have been called up against the Blues if Zinedine Zidane had a fully fit and accessible squad at his disposal, but Ferland Mandy remained injured for Los Blancos.

Fortunately for Zidane, it seems that Marcelo will be able to play tomorrow night.

According to an El Golazo de Gol reporter Sergio Cirante, Marcelo has already returned to the training of Valdebebas from Real Madrid installation and will be on a plane to London with his teammates.

Quirante claims that Marcelo offered to stay in the polls, but the “second deputy” agreed to stand in his place and allow the 32-year-old to compete against Chelsea

From the point of view of Real Madrid, this is great news.
