Thomas Tuchel is “very close” to extending his contract with Chelsea, according to a reporter for Sky Italy Angelo Mangiante.
Tuchel’s greatest achievement so far as Chelsea manager has not reached the FA Cup final, nor has he competed in the Champions League semi-finals, but rather has made the Blues’ fans forget that club legend Frank Lampard was fired earlier in the campaign.

Chelsea are now in the pole position to finish in fourth place, and have a chance to win silverware this season. Tuchel did a good job in a very short time.
He seems ready to receive his award, and Angelo Mangiante of Sky Italy reports that the German is very close to putting paper on to extend his contract, which lasts only until the summer of 2022.

Chelsea fans will be pleased with this news, but it is hardly surprising. The club would not want to make more expensive mistakes by hiring managers on long, lucrative contracts, only to fire them soon after.
