Speaking exclusively of Football FanCast, former Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer has revealed that he is not surprised to see Ezgyan Alioski head to the front door of Eland Road.
Alioski has no contract at the end of the season and according to Football Insider, the 29-year-old has turned down a new deal from Leeds after he has already agreed terms with Galatasaray.
His failure to put paper on paper to extend his contract is likely to accelerate whites’ interest in Ajax’s Nicolas Taliafico and Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt, two left-backs the Yorkshire club is targeting.
This interest and the fact that Alioski has a chance to charge a large entry fee as a free agent makes Palmer a little surprise above.
About international Northern Macedonia, Palmer said FFC:
“I’m listening, It is one on those right? His contract is in the summer; Leeds is connected to every backback, right? He knows that they want a complete turnaround.
„З.e obviously thinking that he is go there is Free agent. He is rumored to be arranged to go to Galatasaray, so if he is a free agent and does not have to pay a fee for it, he will take a lot of money.
As for Alioski’s replacement, Taliafico certainly doesn’t look like a bad option.
The 28-year-old is an Argentine with experience in the Champions League, so he should be able to bring a lot of know-how to this Leeds team.
