Former Inter Milan manager Frank De Boer has praised Matthijs de Ligt and advised him to become Juventus captain in the near future.
The Dutch defender has been with Juve since 2019, when he joined them from Ajax.
He had helped the Dutch powerhouse reach the semi-final of the Champions League.
They have knocked out Juventus and Real Madrid in their run at this stage of the competition.
De Ligt has since been brought to Turin, with Juve viewing him as a leader in their defense for years.
The likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci are not getting any younger and De Ligt will become the defense leader in the coming seasons.
He was Ajax captain at just 18 and De Boer says it shows just how naturally a leader he is and congratulates him on his personality while pushing him to become Juventus captain in the not-so-distant future.
He told Tuttosport away The Bianconero: “For the bianconeri, after years of triumphs, this is certainly not the best season. Matthijs, however, plays a lot and always at excellent and intense levels.
“Italy are famous for their defense and De Ligt is doing very well with center players of the caliber of Bonucci and Chiellini. Both help him a lot on and off the pitch.
On a potential captain’s office De Ligt, he added: “Of course Matthijs has everything to become one. He is a born leader and has a great personality, unsurprisingly, when he was only 18, he was captain of another historic club like Ajax ”
