Why Chelsea could end up without a trophy this season

Chelsea under their new manager, Thomas Tuchel, have an advantage in winning two trophies in the ongoing campaign.

The blues went to the final of the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Today, the Blues were able to lift the FA Cup as they are ready to face Leicester City in the final at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the match, football investigator Paul Merson has stressed that the Blues could end the season without a single trophy for their name.

This comes after Chelsea’s defeat to Arsenal in the EPL during their midweek match.

After the loss, Tuchel admitted that he made too many changes to his team. Merson noted, however, that it could be the blues that are regretted if the same is done against the foxes.

Merson said, “You have come this far. Play your best team. The name of the game was to get a top four spot sewn before the final. ‘Instead, he made lots of changes, they lost, and the door is now open again for the teams chasing them down.’

After playing Leicester City, Chelsea will then face Manchester City in the Champions League final, and Merson warned that several changes over the last few games of the season could leave the Blues with nothing.

“Chelsea can end up with two trophies and a top-four finish this season. Or they could end up with nothing. It is all on a knife edge, and they have put themselves under pressure, “he added.
