Man City manager Pep Guardiola has reacted after his team lost to Chelsea in the final of the Uefa Champions League.
The Citizens had hoped to lift their first UCL title, losing it to the Blues after the latter scored a lone goal in the first half thanks to an attempt by Kai Havertz.
Speaking after their recent defeat, Guardiola noted that his side have learned a lesson from the game.
He noted that Chelsea provided a strong defense and were also quick with counter-attacks.
However, he noted that the Citizens will one day return to win the trophy.
“It is an extraordinary season we have had. It’s an honor to be here.
“In the second half we were brilliant and brave. But they defended so strongly and were so quick on the counterattack. We might come back one day again.
Speaking about why he started without a recognized defensive midfielder and striker, Guardiola added: “I did what was best for the team. [on selection].
“He [Kevin de Bruyne] was injured, but this happens. In this kind of game, we need everyone. The ambition is now against the rest, and then we will come back game by game and hopefully return to this stage in the future. ”
