Chelsea have been active in keeping tabs for potential signings in the summer transfer window. In recent weeks, Atletico’s Jose Giminez, Leipzig’s Konate and Bayern’s Alaba have all been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
Another player from Bayern Munich has entered the picture. Former Juventus man Kingsley Coman is touted as a possible replacement for forward Christian Pulisic, if the American does not stay further than this season with the Blues, according to DailyMail.
USMNT’s Pulisic is yet to start a game under Thomas Tuchel, who has so far overseen eleven unbeaten games in charge. Since moving from Dortmund to Chelsea for approximately €60m in June 2019, Pulisic has appeared 59 times. (transfermarkt) A lack of game time might see him move again.
Chelsea previously considered signing Coman as a potential substitute for Callum Hudson-Odoi who looked close to joining the German champions in 2019.
The 24-year-old has since been followed closely by Chelsea scouts. Coman’s contract with Bayern Munich expires on 30 June 2023, two years down the lane. With a market transfer value around the €55m mark, he might end up as an affordable and productive prospect for many top European clubs.
The winger will have no shortage of suitors with Manchester United & Manchester City also keeping an eye on him.
