Thomas Tuchel praises ‘fascinating’ Bielsa & his ‘intense’ style of play – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea will face Leeds United at Elland Road in the Premier League for the first time since 2003. The Blues will have the chance to make it their first league double win over Leeds for the only time since the 1936/37 season.

Tuchel expects an intense Leeds side who will look to win and break the German’s eleven-game unbeaten run.

Speaking to ahead of the clash in the pre-match conference, he said:

“They are a very attacking side and they try to win every game – if you look at their results, they have only two draws until this moment so they are brave, courageous and trust their physical capability of high-intensity runs.

There are a lot of things to adapt and to be ready for.”

He also praised ex-Lazio & Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa, calling him one of the ‘most fascinating managers’ out there.

“There are big teams out there with big histories and Bielsa is clearly one of the most fascinating managers out there. He has built a strong squad, their style of play is very unique and very intense, which you can see in the data,” he said.

Tuchel‘s formidable defensive record will look to maintain a clean sheet once again against Bielsa’s attack-minded Leeds.

The Blues themselves have no shortage of firepower with Mount, Havertz, Werner and Hudon-Odoi all capable of inflicting damage
