Goals haven’t come in often for the Blues under Tuchel’s reign, but when they have, they have come in great.
As Chelsea looked to add on to the first leg score line of 1-0, Hakim Ziyech tapped in to finish a beautiful counter attack to make it 2-0 on aggregate and keep one foot in the quarter finals.
In a move that was started with a N’Golo Kante clearance and then picked up by Kai Havertz in center midfield, Chelsea exhibited pure brilliance in executing a lightning move thanks to a tireless run by Timo Werner.
Havertz sent a good pass in the path of Werner who strided through a confused-looking Atletico midfield before taking an extra touch and laying it off to Ziyech. The Moroccan was present in the penalty box to knock it home as it took a slight deflection from Jan Oblak.
Hakim Ziyech’s goal! (1-0) (AGG 2-0).

With four key players missing, especially Mount in attack, Chelsea executed an eye-catching move against a stern Atletico defence. One can only imagine how it would have been with Mason Mount in midfield.
