Chelsea’s second stunning counterattack seals Champions League quarter-final spot – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea were just getting started with the first goal on the night against Atletico Madrid.

As Kante, Havertz, Werner and Ziyech executed an inch perfect counter attack for the first goal, the forward line put in a fantastic showing once again in the second half with relentess attacks that could have seen Chelsea score 3-4 goals.

The 94th minute saw the Blues enact an almost similar move just like the one that led to the first goal. If it was Werner who did the work for the opener, it was American star Pulisic who made the difference this time with a midfield splitting run.

He ran across the Atletico half before coolly laying off the ball in the path of substitute Emerson Palmieri. The left-back made no mistake in slotting the ball into the bottom right corner, sealing a 2-0 deal for Chelsea.

The Italian who recently was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, made it 3-0 on aggregate for Chelsea.

His goal prompted Thiago Silva, Mason Mount and Jorginho to jump in joy, as they ecstatically celebrated in the stands.
