PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino asked Harry Kane of his plans if Tottenham Hotspur fail to qualify for the next Champions League.

According to the French website TF1, Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke by phone with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to find out what he wanted for the rest of his career, especially if the North London team did not qualify for next season’s Champions League.

And Athletic claimed yesterday that the English international will push for a exit this summer if Tottenham fails to secure the Champions League qualification.

A reunion with Pochettino may be an issue if that happens, and PSG is one of the few clubs that can meet the transfer requirements of Daniel Levy of Tottenham’s now president.

Jose Mourinho’s men are currently seventh in the Premier League table with eight matches remaining, and only five points currently separate them from the Champions League zone.

Tottenham missed the European elite competition last season and were knocked out of the European League a few weeks ago, and failure to qualify for the second consecutive season will have dire consequences.

They face Manchester United later in the day, and the score is likely to have a big say in their chances in the top four.

Tottenham is said to value Kane at around £ 120m, which is unlikely to be a problem for PSG.

If the French giants fail in their attempt to persuade Kylian Mbappe to stay at the club, Kane will likely be their first goal this summer if Pochettino manages to convince Leonardo, sporting director, that it makes sense to try to sign the Tottenham star.

The 27-year-old wants to play regularly in the Champions League and win trophies, and with Tottenham striving to achieve his goals despite his best efforts, a move elsewhere will definitely appeal to him.

In other news, Pep Guardiola responded to the possibility of Sergio Aguero joining Tottenham.
