Mino Raiola revealed the result of his talks with Borussia Dortmund about Erling Haaland, namely that the Bundesliga club wants to keep the striker for another year.
Haaland is one of the most sought-after players on the market after a bright start in his career. Since joining Dortmund in January 2020, he has scored 49 goals in just 52 games. He is seen as a potential future competitor for the Ballon d’Or.
Given his rate of progress, many clubs are interested in giving him the next move this summer. Few of the suitors will be able to afford it, but Raiola recently went on a tour of potential destinations to see who could offer what.
His first stop was Spain, Where he visited the Spanish League, Barcelona and Real Madrid. The former may not be able to afford it but it remains a major goal of the latter.
Raiola then went to England, where Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea were all linked.
However, Dortmund always seemed uninterested in these visits. The German club maintains that They won’t sell the player until next summerWhen work begins on the condition of release of 75 million euros.
Meanwhile, they can ask for the price they want – and it appears they have no intention of selling it.
Agent Raiola has now confirmed this way, and claimed that even if he fell out with Dortmund, he had no problem with their position.
Raiola said Sports 1: “I can confirm that I was in Dortmund for talks.
“Michael Zork has made it clear to us that BVB doesn’t want to sell Erling this summer. I respect that opinion, but that doesn’t automatically mean that I agree either.
“BVB has been very clear in their views. We’re okay with that.
“There is no war between us and the BVB – not at all! Relationship with Zorc, Hans-Joachim Watzke and [Sebastian] Kiel is still good. “
Man United worried Haaland
Meanwhile, one of the suitors worries that Haaland has been targeted.
Man United want to reunite with his former coach at Molde Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who tried to convince him to join them before Dortmund.
Since then, its price has increased dramatically. Therefore, United are keen to avoid a repeat of the Jadon Sancho’s saga last summer.
Sancho was a prime target for Manchester United in 2020 but Dortmund refused to slash their € 120m claim. Man United eventually withdrew from the negotiations empty-handed.
