Chelsea are reportedly considering a transfer deal for Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix before the summer.
However, it looks like the Portugal international will only be targeted as an alternative if he misses Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, according to Don Balon.
The Blues could make changes as early as this summer after Timo Werner’s poor form, and Haaland has been linked heavily as a primary target by the Daily Star.
However, Felix could also be a tempting option for Chelsea, with the 21-year-old currently looking for another of Europe’s most promising young talents.
Felix made his first appearance at Benfica ahead of a big move to Atletico, where he doesn’t always look so convincing in Diego Simeone’s tactical setup, which is a bit defensive.
We imagine that a flair player like Felix could do much better under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea, if the opportunity presented itself.
Fans of the West London Giants are just hoping the club can have a bit more success with their signings this year, as many of their big buys last summer turned out to be a bit of a letdown.
Besides Werner, we haven’t really seen the best of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech or Ben Chilwell at Stamford Bridge yet.
