According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur want RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann to be their new manager after his split from Jose Mourinho this morning, and they can appoint the German before the season ends.
The Portuguese forward was sacked today after losing most of Tottenham’s locker room and after a series of sad results that left the team in danger of ending the league outside the top four.
Mourinho only lasted for 17 months on a four-year contract signed after replacing Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019.
Chris Powell and Ryan Mason will be in charge of Tottenham Hotspur and are preparing for the League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.
However, the duo were not told that they would definitely remain in charge for the rest of the season as Tottenham look to beat Nagelsmann before the other suitors.
Bayern Munich is also keen on the 33-year-old as they look to replace the outgoing Hansi Flick, but he has expressed a desire to train in the Premier League and Tottenham believes they can land him before the summer.
Nagelsmann has two years left on his Bundesliga contract, and whether he will make sure to leave and move to North London before the end of 2020-2021.
The former Hoffenheim coach has proven himself one of the best tactical minds in the game despite his age, and Tottenham boss Daniel Levy appears to be a huge fan.
