According to Football Italia, Tottenham Hotspur has contacted Maurizio Sarri Valley Ramadan’s agent to give him the opportunity to manage the club as of next season.
Tottenham split from Jose Mourinho yesterday and is not wasting time in their efforts to secure a replacement for the Portuguese.
Chris Powell and former Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason will assume interim responsibility for the club and will be on standby for the League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.
Sarri spent a season with Chelsea in the Premier League to help them win the European League before departing for Juventus, and the former Napoli coach is eager to return to work.
The Italian was sacked last August after the old lady was eliminated from the Champions League by Lyon in the round of 16.
Sarri helped the Italian league giants win the title last season, losing only the Coppa Italia to Napoli on penalties.
The 62-year-old remains under contract with Juventus until June 2022, but his contract could be terminated one year in advance if 2.5 million euros are paid by the end of April.
Roma are also keen to recruit Sarri ahead of the new season, and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can direct them to his services.
He’s not the only coach on Tottenham’s radar, though RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann has also been linked to Mourinho’s succession in the final hours.
As reported by The Sun, North Londoners want to hire the German coach before the end of this season.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to be a huge fan of the 33-year-old, and fans are hoping he gets his next managerial appointment right after Mourinho’s project failed to yield fruitful results.
