Pundit wants to see McGee play better

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Steve Howie, who made 157 appearances for Newcastle United, claims that Sunderland winger Aidan McGady has not been given the opportunity to put himself in the shopping window to leave Sunderland.

The national team of the Republic of Ireland has been with the “Black Cats” since 2017, when he joined the team of Simon Grayson in the Championship and managed to score 33 goals in 129 appearances.

Should Sunderland offer McGeady a new deal?

He stepped out of the first team in the first half of the season under former boss Phil Parkinson, but under current manager Lee Johnson, McGeady was in excellent form before Sunderland’s current poor form.

Speaking about why McGeady needs to play better if he wants to get a transfer away from Sunderland and how it doesn’t make sense for him not to play under Parkinson’s, Howey said FFC:

„З.e a a lot good player, and I think under on last manager is never really works but for I, if he no such as him then it is good but why would You I say a a lot good player to train with children?

If he want to be then the manager can have played him and basically speaking “if You want to be away, then I will play you and then it is up to you to perform and take Yours move. If You no, then you are stuck here’.”

Sunderland can now automatically climb from League One only if Peterborough fails to take another point this season after a terrible one-win win in their last seven games, so they will have to try again and climb through the playoffs.

McGeady’s current Stadium of Light contract is due to expire this summer as the club decides whether to offer the 35-year-old a new contract or not.
