Manchester United fans broke into Old Trafford and took to the pitch to protest the Glazer family’s ownership of the club.
Glaziers have faced opposition from United fans since their controversial takeover of the club in 2005, but unrest increased after the European Super League debacle, which prompted some fans to enter the club’s training ground.
“It is important that the opinions of the fans are heard and that we communicate better,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Friday. “My job is to focus on the football and make sure we have the best team possible.
“As I said before, I have been supported, I have had great support from the club and the owners and I am sure I will get the support again to go further.
“But I’m so happy that all clubs have agreed that this shouldn’t be the way to go. Again, when protests continue, it is important that they go in the right direction and that we keep the peace. “
Thousands of fans gathered outside Old Trafford to protest ahead of United’s game against Liverpool but some broke into the stadium and entered the field.
