Everton plan on joining transfer battle for Sergio Aguero

Everton are set to join the race to sign Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero this summer, with the forward set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Argentine has been a phenomenal addition to the Premier League since joining the Etihad from Atletico Madrid in 2011, the 32-year-old scoring 182 remarkable top-level goals, as well as securing what will be soon to be a fifth league title at the club.

Despite his legendary status at Manchester City, the club announced in late March that the player’s current deal would not be extended, allowing him to leave for free this summer.

In truth, the campaign has been a personal disappointment for the small forward, with a succession of injuries limiting him to just six league starts this season, scoring just two goals, despite having managed an incredible effort in the 2- 0. win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

With the side emphasis being a sign that the player is not yet in decline, the player’s signature race is now firmly on, the Daily Star reporting that Everton is the last side to join the battle to catch up with him.

The report suggests that while the Merseyside club will not be able to meet the player’s demands for the player’s salary of £ 240,000 per week, they would be willing to make up for that fact by offering a ‘significant’ signing fee.

The Toffees currently have only one real striking option in the form of England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin, while loan forward Moise Kean looks set for a permanent move away from the club, with a stint in Paris. Saint-Germain on the maps. or a possible return to the old one, Juventus.

While Carlo Ancelotti’s side hope to put even greater pressure for the top four next season, acquiring a player like Aguero would be a true statement of intent and follow James’s club signing at the top level. Rodriguez from Real Madrid last summer. .

While salaries can potentially be a potential stumbling block, Everton will also face rival interest from other Premier League sides, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Leeds all seen as potential destinations.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move by the player, as well as Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland, while Spurs’ continued reliance on current striker Harry Kane may have heightened the need for a quality alternative. – or even potentially a replacement.

A link with compatriot Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road is also being considered, the Yorkshire club currently with just Patrick Bamford have their only real center-forward option.

Although it appears that Aguero wants to stay in the Premier League, the report also highlights that his services are attracting interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan.
