Leicester City have received a huge transfer boost from PSV when it comes to their pursuit of Noni Madueke.
The Foxes have previously been linked with a move to the England U21 international by the Daily Mail, with Rodgers apparently keen to add the wideman to his squad ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Will Leicester City finish in the top four?
Not this year…
Now reports from Dutch outlet De Telegraaf say PSV would only ask for between € 15m and € 20m (£ 13m to £ 17m) for the signing of the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee – a price which could certainly be seen as a bargain for the foxes.
Madueke is currently in the middle of a hugely productive campaign having scored nine goals and provided eight assists in all competitions so far throughout 2020/21.
For context, that would place him just behind Kelechi Iheanacho, Jamie Vardy and James Maddison for their goal contributions for the current Foxes squad.
While it would be fair to assume that he currently plays in a league that is a bit easier in the Eredivisie form, those are still impressive numbers considering he is only 19 years old.
Meanwhile, spending just £ 17million in one area they need to strengthen, the Foxes would still have funds available to invest in other areas of their squad.
For example, the East-Midlanders have been linked to people like Robin gosens and Boubakary Soumare lately, while their signings might have been somewhat unrealistic if the Foxes had spent a lot on a new winger, Madueke’s relatively affordable arrival should have counter-acted.
Given his current talent and immense potential, the current price PSV is asking for the winger should certainly give Leicester a big boost in their pursuit throughout the summer.
