Everton and Leicester City want to sign Ivan Toney from Brentford in summer transfer window, say Athletic. The Toffees and Foxes have been reported to be among a number of clubs aiming to replace the 25-year-old former Newcastle United striker once the season is over.
Toney is one of the best forwards in the championship and has been in excellent shape this season. According to Who scored, the Englishman has made 43 starts and one league substitute appearance for Brentford this season, scoring 30 goals and providing 10 assists in the process. The Bees have completed the league playoffs and could win promotion to the Premier League.
Everton and Leicester both aim to finish in the top four in the Premier League table this season. The Foxeds appear poised for a Champions League berth, while the Toffees could miss out if they don’t win their remaining games and results elsewhere don’t go their way.
