Chris Hutton’s Nottingham Forest was hit in the hope of securing Serdar Dursun’s move to the town.
What are we talking about?
This is stated in a report by the German newspaper Bild (through the World Football League), which claims that the central striker of Darmstadt, who is reportedly of interest to both Nottingham Forest and the derby, entered into negotiations with Hamburg before a potential summer shift.
The two league clubs have been warned of the striker, valued at £ 1.35 million before the transfer window in January, when it was alleged that the 29-year-old wanted to seal a move away from Darmstadt this summer after his Bundesliga contract expired. 2.
Would Dursun be a good signature for Forest?
Houghton must move
So far this season, Dursun has been in exceptional form in his 30 appearances in the league for the country of Marcus Anfang, with the striker collecting 21 goals and registering three assists for Darmstadt, as well as an average very impressive rating of the match on SofaScore of 7.35, ranking it as the club’s second best performer in Germany’s second tier.
This kind of goal-scoring form is something that City Ground has been desperately missing this season, with goal scorer Louis Graban finding the back of the net only six times in his 27 league appearances, while Lyle Taylor scoring just four times on his 38 league trips in 16 place in the forest.
As such, Houghton will likely seek to invest in new attacking talent during the summer transfer window in an attempt to promote the championship next season. The 1.9-meter-tall (6-foot-tall) Dursun looks set to be both an improvement on Forest’s current capabilities and a cost-effective move for the club, given that the 29-year-old looks set to be available for free transfer.
However, with recent reports that the striker is in talks with Hamburg on the move, it would be advisable for Forest to act quickly to try to sign a deal for the Turkish goal machine.
