Manchester City gave UCL boost after Kylian Mbappe injury update
Posted On May 4, 2021
Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to start the Champions League clash with Manchester City from the bench.
The Parisians face City in their second final in the semi-finals tonight, with Pep Guardiola’s side holding a 2-1 lead overall.
Goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez at the Parc des Princes give City some breathing space, but the draw is by no means over.
However, PSG will have to try a comeback without talisman Kylian Mbappe.
It was reported during the game that Mbappe could miss the game due to a leg injury.
According to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard, the French superstar will not be able to start against City.
The Frenchman will be on the bench and will be able to play a lot later in the game.
It will come as a huge boost for City, who would have been concerned about the threat Mbappe poses.
SL View – Will Manchester City win in historic Champions League clash?
If Pep Guardiola’s team avoids defeat against PSG tonight, players will be the first city side to make the Champions League final.
That’s probably the motivation for these City players who impressed during the first stage in France.
In a game that had a tremendous quality on the show, City showed they could perform on the big stage and we expect a lot of the same tonight.
Guardiola also chose to rest a number of its star players against Crystal Palace on Saturday, which could increase their chances.
Two away goals could also be the key, with PSG having to score at least twice to win the match.
It is safe to say that it will be an upward task for the Parisians, especially without Mbappe.
