Minute 9 – City, go for it!

They barely left their half in the opening trade, but it’s City who take the lead via Mahrez. A quick counterattack launched by Ederson ends with the Paris-born striker tucking the ball under Navas.

Minute 6 – VAR cancels the penalty for PSG

The referee blows for a penalty for an alleged handball on Zinchenko! But VAR intervenes to overturn the decision. It’s the right choice – the ball hit the Ukrainian on top of the shoulder.

Minute 1 – We’re underway!

The ball rolls over a pockmarked surface in Manchester.

8:55 p.m. CEST: the city’s stars shine

City are looking to reach their very first Champions League final. Much of their hopes rest on the De Bruyne talisman, but his leading partners tonight, Mahrez and Foden, have also excelled in recent times. Will they cross the last hurdle?

8:30 p.m. CEST: British Summer Time

We may only be a month into the summer but hail greeted PSG on their visit to England ahead of their Champions League semi-final. PSG social networks shared an image of the Etihad turf after the hailstorm. One cannot imagine that Neymar will be too happy with the weather.

8:05 p.m. CEST: Neymar is ready to give everything

While Mbappe can only appear on the bench, Neymar is even more in a hurry to deliver his PSG side. Speaking ahead of the meeting, Neymar left no doubt about his commitment to the cause.

“We have a very difficult game against Manchester City, but we have to believe it, without thinking what the statistics say about our chances of winning,” Neymar said.

“Every Parisian must believe in us and I am the first. I am on the front line. I am the first warrior in this battle.

“I will do my best and do my best to qualify for the final, even if it means dying on the ground. “

7:55 p.m. CEST: starting eleven confirmed from PSG

The big news is here, and that’s what all PSG fans would have feared: Mbappe is NOT in the starting XI. The Frenchman only makes the bench, not having fully recovered from his injury. In his place comes Mauro Icardi. Elsewhere, Ander Herrera takes the place of suspended Idrissa Gueye in midfield, while Diallo is preferred over Bakker at left-back.

The starting XI of PSG: Navas, Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo; Herrera, Verratti, Paredes; Di Maria, Icardi and Neymar.

7.45 p.m. CEST: starting eleven confirmed from Manchester City

We warned that predicting Pep would be impossible. Zinchenko is preferred at left-back at Cancelo, while Fernandinho is selected ahead of Rodri in the heart of midfield. But it is this wonderful front three of Mahrez, De Bruyne and Foden that will give PSG headaches tonight.

7:30 p.m. CEST: Big game De Bruyne

Kevin de Bruyne is the man of the big occasion. Seven of De Bruyne’s 10 Champions League goals were scored in the round of 16.

He scored three against PSG, one last season at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid and another in the quarterfinals last year against Lyon.

This season, De Bruyne scored in the 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the round of 16 and scored another goal in Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Dortmund in the quarter-finals.

7:00 p.m. CEST: Will Neymar end his drought?

Neymar rarely fails to appear on the big stage, but the Brazilian, despite all his contribution to PSG, is going through a mini-drought in the knockout stages of the Champions League. The former Santos star hasn’t scored in his last six knockout games in Europe. His last strike in the decisive phase of the Champions League came in the round of 16 of last year’s edition, in a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

Will Neymar end his drought against City?

6:20 p.m. CEST: planned alignment of PSG against Manchester City

Mauricio Pochettino is sweating on the fitness of Kylian mbappe, but it is suspected that the French will go all the way and play in a match of such importance. Mbappe missed his weekend win over Lens, as Angel Di Maria was rested, but Neymar played almost the entire game. Abdou Diallo played the entire 90 minutes against Lens, indicating that Mitchel Bakker will start at left-back. Idrissa Gueye is suspended after seeing red for a tough challenge on Ilkay Gundogan in the first leg.

The XI predicted by PSG: Keylor Navas, Alessandro Florenzi, Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, Mitchel Bakker, Leandro Paredes, Marco Verratti, Danilo, Angel Di Maria, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe.

6:00 p.m. CEST: Manchester City to predict roster against PSG

As we all know, Pep guardiola loves to tinker with her starting lineup, no matter how big the occasion. The Catalan coach has made several changes to his recent Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace, however, which could give an indication of who will start. The tastes of De Bruyne, Mahrez and Dias all received the match on the weekend.

Manchester City’s predicted XI: Ederson, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Rodri, Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Kevin de Bruyne.
