The Nigerian striker was among the scorers as Eldad Shavit’s men improved their chances of avoiding demotion to Israeli third.
Hapoel Raanana clinched a 3-2 victory over Hapoel Umm al-Fahm with Peter Olawale and Bede Osuji among the scorers.
In the Liga Leumit relegation play-offs on Tuesday, the Nigeria international and his compatriot scored a goal in each half to put Eldad Shavit’s side past the visitors.
Having failed to win any of his last three matches, Ra’anana hosted Avi Sabag’s team at the Ramat Gan National Stadium – with the ambition to collect as many points as possible – which would improve their chances of survival.
Four minutes into the game, however, they took the lead thanks to Guyanese international Emery Welshman.

Umm al-Fahm had their opportunities but their offensive forays met strong resistance from the host’s defenders.
A minute into the second half, Olawale extended the lead for Shavit’s men. After controlling a pass from a teammate, the 18-year-old crossed the visitors back line before sending the ball past goalkeeper Tomer Livitanov.
Not wanting to come down without a fight, Umm al-Fahm fought back and fired a goal by Levan Kutalia in the 52nd minute.
Twelve minutes later, the Georgian striker completed his brace after taking advantage of Ra’anana’s botched defense.
Needing a goal to ensure the game ends on a note with no winner, no loser, they continued their downward attack, even though they weren’t able to reach the goal they had. so much needed. Therefore, they returned home with their heads bowed.
With his latest effort, Olawale has now scored seven goals in 13 league games in the current 2020-21 campaign.

Hapoel Raanana will face Kafr Qasim in their next outing on Friday before traveling to Hapoel Kfar Shalem on May 14 for their final game of the season.
