Dutch goal machine on Leeds radar as Belgians contemplate underhanded profit

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Club Brugge loan star Noa Lang in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old has received rave reviews for his exhibits at Jan Breydel Stadium. Although technically still on the books of Dutch giant Ajax, he has agreed to join Blauw-Zwart on a permanent basis this summer. However, according to The telegraph, the winger hinted that he was open to another immediate move if the right offer arose.

And that offer could come from Elland Road, with Marcelo Bielsa being seen as a fan. Lang rose through the Ajax youth ranks before making his senior debut in December 2019.

And it was a memorable introduction to the first team. The Netherlands Under-21 ace became the first Ajax player in 60 years to score a hat-trick on his debut.

Despite the feat, he was loaned out to FC Twente in January 2020 and made seven Eredivisie appearances for the Tukkers. He returned to Amsterdam and only played seven minutes of league football for Ajax this term before traveling to Belgium in October.

He proved to be a wise move, with 15 goals in 25 appearances in the Belgian First Division A. The Rotterdam-born tall man is set to move permanently to Bruges for £ 5.4million at the start of July.

But that might not be the end of the story, with whites ready to pounce. The Telegraph reports that the Yorkshire side are ready to part ways with € 20million (£ 17million) to secure his signature.

That would make Brugge a good profit, while a move to the Premier League side would boost Noa’s wages.

Bielsa ready for summer

It has been a solid season for Leeds in their first top-flight return campaign. Many experts gave them advice for an immediate return to the championship.

But with 14 wins already under their belt, they are safe in 11th place and without relegation worries. The second season will always be more difficult.

And Leeds doesn’t need to look any further than South Yorkshire for an example. Sheffield United finished ninth after winning a promotion, but will end up deep in the race this term.

Bielsa will try to ensure that his men do not follow and will recruit in the low season. Man already linked is Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul.

He would costs much more than Lang but is also be watched by Liverpool.
