According to reports, Arsenal expressed interest in a bold transfer to Leverkusen centre-back Edmund Tapsoba this summer.
The 22-year-old joined Die Werkself from Victoria Guimarães in January 2020 and has since played 61 times for the Bundesliga team in all competitions, including 39 games in the 2020-21 season.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Manchester United were paying close attention to the central defender, who was said to be worth around £52 million.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari, the Gunners have selected the Burkina Faso international as their main transfer target, and the North Londoners are expected to find a new central defender in the summer transfer market.
Tapso Bajas signs with Bayer Leverkusen until June 2026.
